Got problems playing your favorite Netflix movies in your favorite Firefox browser on your new favorite Windows 8 OS?

Here’s the answer:

  1. In your address bar of Firefox, type “about:config” which may give you a scary warning. If it does, just click that you accept the risks (this won’t break anything)
  2. Right click anywhere in the main browser window
  3. Select “new” and then “string”
  4. Type “general.useragent.override” for the preference name
  5. Type “Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0.1” for the value
  6. Go watch a movie!

Details of why this works after the jump.
